My World classroom sessions

These 40 minute sessions are interactive and curriculum focused. Sessions cost £20 for maximum of 30 students. Topics include:

Introduction to a visitor attraction
A look at the history and product development of Woburn Safari Park. Who is out target market and why? How is the Park organised into departments and what factors affect the running of this attraction

Running a Visitor Attraction
A more in depth look at how this visitor attraction is run. What factors affect us? How do we make decisions about the future? What things must we take into consideration in our daily operations?

Customer Service
Customer service is one the most important aspects of running Woburn Safari Park and our excellence in this area sets us aside from our competitors. This talk looks at what customer service is, why it is important, internal and external customers, dealing with complaints and the importance of customer records.

Marketing
Conveying the right messages is vital to the success of the Park. This session looks at why we need to market the Park and how we do it. The ‘4 p’s’ are considered along with market research.

Using ICT at the Safari Park
ICT has an important role in many areas of the safari park from office administration to keeping animal records and ticketing functions. This session looks at the many uses of ICT across the Park and how we may need to develop this in the future.

Developing People
This session looks at how we create our award winning team. There is information on recruitment, staff training and development, reward and recognition and personnel policies.

Finance
Woburn Safari Park is a profitable business and this session looks at the financial side of the Park. Income generation, budgeting and flow through the business are considered.

Catering at Woburn Safari Park
The Catering function is a major part of the Park’s function. This session looks at why it is important, how we do it and what sort of considerations we make.

A Promotional Campaign
This session focuses on a recent, specific promotional campaign. This looks at our objectives, how we did it and how successful it was. 

Health and Safety  
Creating a safe environment is essential to the running of Woburn Safari Park. This session looks at how we do it.

Guided coach tours for vocational groups

Book an educator to help you make the most out of your drive around the safari reserves. This tour is designed for GCSE and A level vocational groups. It gives a guide to the day to day operation of the Safari Park, its products and services, health and safety, customer service and marketing and PR. Tours last up to 1 ½ hours. £1 per student (minimum charge £20)

Vocational workshops

Workshops last for 1 ½ hours and take a more detailed look at the topics being studied with interactive practical activities to reinforce learning. Topics available include customer service, marketing and health and safety. £40 per workshop (maximum 30 students)

Day Programmes

We are also offering a programme of day events including a customer service training course, an industry day and a work related learning day. Please contact us for more information about these events.

Outreach

Any of our vocational sessions can be brought to your school or college as outreach talks. £100 per session (15% discount if you are making a visit to the Safari Park in the same year).
